WelcomeINNOVATION IN FGC PRACTICE
The objectives were to identify key developments in FGC practice and to share learning as well as to net work with those interested in the work. Three work shops explored Early Intervention, FGC’s with Vulnerable Adults and Using Coaching to Enable Others. Key note speakers included Joyce Mckee, NIASP and Amanda McClean, Public Health Agency. Comments from participants included “making connections with systemic thinking as a means of intervention with adults and the value of being truly person centred”, “finding out a bit more about the structure of FGC and how it works”, “very well delivered/discussion and ideas were thought provoking”, “hearing about other services and co–ordinators experience with FGC”. Each work shop identified areas of learning and also areas of work for FGCNI in the coming year. These will be considered and become part of our new business plan for 2016–2017. You can contact us with any suggestions or ideas for our work via email – mena@fgcni.org or on Twitter @fgcni.

LATEST NEWSSuccessful Application to Social Work Strategy Innovation Scheme2016-04-18We are delighted to have been successful in receiving significant funding from the Social Work Strategy Innovation Scheme and are beginning our planning process. The driver for the application is an opportunity to explore the impact of a self–referral model for family/network decision making for a community of interest. This will involve working directly alongside families and also training volunteers to facilitate family decision making meetings. We will keep you updated on our exciting new project. |
